Let’s talk face cleansers. There are a ton of different options out there based on your skin needs and it can get a little overwhelming. In today’s post, we break down some of the most popular types of cleansers and which skin types they’re best suited for.
Gel
Gel cleansers are great if you’re looking for something that’s hydrating, but still light weight. Since they are for a more gentle cleanse, they’re great for the morning or as a second cleanse in the evening. This type of cleanser is best for normal to combo skin types.
Cream
Are you a dry skin gal? You’ll want to try this one out. Cream cleansers are great for dry or mature skin because they are deeply moisturizing at the same time. They also don’t strip away our skin’s natural oils. This type of cleanser is best for sensitive, dry or mature skin types.
Oil
If you have oily skin, DON’T FREAK OUT. Oil cleaners are actually great for all skin types. This may sound counter intuitive, but hear us out. The reason why oil cleansers work great for all skin types is because the idea is that like attracts like. In this case, oil attracts oil. When using an oil cleanser, it works to pull out all the dirt and oils in our pores but doesn’t strip the skin leaving you feeling soft and plump. This type of cleanser is best for EVERYONE!
Balm
Similar to oil cleansers, but in a more solid form. They are heavier, so avoid if you have oily and acne prone skin as they can clog pores. They’re great for removing oil and dirt without drying out the skin. They’re also deeply nourishing. This type of cleanser is best for dry to normal skin types.
