There are four commonly recognized skin types: dry, oily, combination and sensitive. These determine some of the problems you might have with your skin, like blackheads, redness, or flaky skin.
However, most people are a combination - dry in some areas, oilier in others and with varying sensitivity. Misdiagnosis is common, which is why we’ve come up with some pointers for accurately understanding your skin!

Dry Skin*
Tips
- Don’t exfoliate more than 1-2x week (could be stripping your face of natural moisture).
- Try moisturizing with a lighter cream during the day and heavier moisturizer/sleep mask or facial oil at night.

*Dry skin is not the same as dehydrated skin! If you’re moisturizing regularly and still feeling tightness in your skin, it might be dehydrated - a skin condition affecting its ability to hold moisture. Read more here to find out.
Combination Skin
Tips
- Use a gentle cleanser and toner to balance your skin.
- Don’t sleep on SPF! (no matter your skin type)
- Hydrating face masks are your friend.
