One of the goals of Jiyubox is to introduce to you new skincare products to test out in your regime. When trying out new products, it's important to know that it takes skin time to adapt to new ingredients. Here are our tips on how to test out and incorporate new products.
Give it Time
In general, it takes about 1 month for new skin cells to turn over. This means that you'll need at least 28 days to start seeing results. That being said, different products need different amounts of time to see changes. Cleansers take about 30 days of continuous use to see results, while serums can take 6 to 8 weeks of regular use. On the other hand, body and face moisturizers can deliver quicker results in as little as 1 to 2 weeks!
Try One at a Time
We know. It's super exciting to open your Jiyubox and discover a plethora of goodies to test out. Even we get giddy with excitement when it's time to test new products. It's important to test out new products one at a time so if one of the products does give you a negative reaction, it's easy to pinpoint which one is the culprit.
Do a Patch Test
This is a great method to use if you have allergies or sensitive skin. The neck is a great place to start since the skin is thinner here and more sensitive to reactions. Plus, if you do get a reaction, it's not on your face!
Be Aware of How Many Products You're Using
Sometimes it can feel like we need to use all the things to make sure our skin is at it's prime, however, it's important to keep track of how many and what products we're using. In reality, we really only need about one item of each step. Especially when incorporating new products, you'll want to stick to one item at a time. It's also important to note that too many active ingredients from different products can have a negative effect when combined. They have the potential to irritate skin, clog pores, or cause breakouts.
